Doug Rosier

Hometown: Leesburg, Virginia | Preferred Water: Potomac, Lake Anna

At the age of 5 I received my first fishing rod by my father. It was a snoopy rod and reel. From that moment I knew I was going to have a great passion for the sport. I first started fishing in small farm ponds then later progressed to trout fishing in creeks and the upper Potomac River. Every chance I got I was on the bank of a pond, river or stream. I enjoyed spending time near the water and catching my own bait.

I caught many types of fish catfish, trout, bass, bluegill, spot, rock, stripers and snakeheads. At the age of 16 I met my soul mate Marla and she also shared a great passion for fishing. We spent almost every weekend fishing river banks and ponds. We took our kids fishing every chance we could and in 2000 we decided to buy a boat. I started with an old trihull and man was it an experience. I later upgraded to a bass boat. We went out with a few guides on the Potomac and Lake Anna to learn better fishing, boating, and region techniques. I began fishing open bass tournaments in 2005. I started fishing in a small bass club, by this time I was hooked on the excitement of competition. In 2008 I fished the Fishers of Men tournament trail. Then started my own club and operated it for 2 years. I now fish open tournaments and fish American Bass Anglers weekend series.

My goals are to make it to the Bass Master Classic and become a professional Angler.
